Wimp?

Wimp? (Where is my password?) is a password manager for Gnome. It uses the OpenSSL encryption library to encrypt passwords with the Blowfish encryption algorithm. It allows you to encrypt your passwords using a single passphrase and save those to disk.

Current version is: 0.2

  • version: 0.3 no download available yet
    implementation: C++
    This version is a complete rewrite in C++. It features more encryption methods and better code (the previous versions' code sucked). Right now, only available through CVS at SourceForge. I don't work on the older versions, but if anyone feels the need to, go ahead (there are some annoying segfaults in 0.2).
  • version: 0.2 download
    implementation: C
    Well, the second release is there. It introduces a lot of bugfixes, especially in the filehandling. Also a possible buffer overrun bug in the encryption code has been fixed. I also got some nice ideas to make in the third release, so keep your eyes on this project. See changelog for more details.
  • version: 0.1 download deprecated
    implementation: C
    The first release works. No more to say about that. Some things aren't finished yet, but they'll appear in the 0.2 release, see the TODO list. I wrote the whole program in Anjuta which is a great IDE. I also need to thank Eduardo Sztokbant <eduardo@registro.br> for the en- and decryption functions.
